Course:
Courses have been designed
to cover the theoretical and practical aspects of analytical chemistry
and allied subjects, such as: computers, electronics, mathematics,
statistics and laboratory safety.
Degrees
Offered:
The
Center offers programs leading to Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) and
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The M. Phil requires either a review of a
topic from the chemical literature, or an original research accompanying
thesis, in addition to 24 CH (2 semester) theory course. The Ph.D.
requires original research and a dissertation which must be
successfully defended.
Admission Requirements:

The Center requires Master of Science in any
discipline of Chemistry : analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, physical,
organic, applied chemistry or its equivalent for admission. Graduate in
allied subjects such as pharmacy, chemical engineering, Geochemistry
etc. may also apply. The applicants should also demonstrate aptitude in
the physical sciences and mathematics, along with letters of
recommendations. The entry test is normally conducted twice a year.

The minimum CGPA 3.0
will be required to take the research Project for M. Phil.
Degree Requirements:
The persons seeking M. Phil degree, require 24
CH (2 semester) theory courses and 16 CH supervised research project,
thesis submission and defence. For Ph. D. degree, those persons are
eligible for transfer from M. Phil to Ph. D. status, who secure 70 % or
above score (marks) in the semester courses for the M. Phil program.
Foreign qualified applicants, who have earned M. Phil degree in the
relevant disciplines, can be directly registered for Ph. D. program.
Criteria:
All candidates are required to appear in entry
test followed by an interview. Only limited numbers of seats are
available.
Financial Assistance:
A limited number of fellowships are available
for deserving students. Candidates normally apply at the beginning of
the academic program.
Accommodation:
A limited number of accommodation is available
for Male and Female.
Note:
GRE Subject test will be
required at the time of admission / conversion to Ph.D. as recommended
by HEC and approved by University of Sindh.
